I dabble in electronics, mostly digital circuits. Lately, I've been exploring the world of PIC microcontrollers. Why? Because it is good, clean, geeky fun.
A PIC (peripheral interface controller) Microcontroller is a chip manufactured by Microchip. These ICs are complete computers in a single IC. The only external components you need to add are a crystal resonator as a clock source (you can use a resistor and capacitor if precision is not important), and pull-up resistors on any unused I/O pins. That's it.
