Age of Empires Collectable Card Game Hints/Tips/Strategies Not having played many games yet, it is too soon to offer much in the way of strategy. However, one thing is certain: build houses as early as you can. Your villager population is limited by the number of houses you have built (5 villagers per house + 5 per town center). You are given the town center at the beginning of the game, but you have to build your houses. Without villagers, you will be severely crippled since villagers are required to do anything, like build more buildings, harvest resources, etc. For now, I'm recommending that you build a house as your first action. Another tip (one I keep forgetting and Michelle keeps reminding me of) is to carefully go over the cards in your hand during the draw/discard phase. After the draw/discard phase is the allocation phase where you assign villagers to various tasks. Decide what you want to bring into play during the next turn's construction phase and allocate your villagers accordingly. Another thing we discovered is that it might be unwise to advance to the next age too soon. Advancing to the next age allows you to use some nifty cards, but if you have not yet drawn your barracks or all of your houses from your first age deck, shuffling your second age deck into your play deck makes it that much less likely that you'll draw them any time soon. This can be crippling. My recommendation: don't shuffle your next age deck into your play deck until you have drawn the cards you want to play from your current play deck.
