Diablo II

There are more character classes to choose from. There are sets of unique magic items that when used together provide powers greater than the sum of their parts. Some items can be improved by inserting gems into "sockets" on the item. Characters apply points awarded for experience to skills selected from a skill tree. Two sets of weapons/shields can be carried and switched at the press of a key (useful for switching between close-combat and ranged weapons).

Blizzard has taken a classic game and made it better.
