Joel Thomas Anderson
(Yes. I know you can anagram my name into major sandstone hole and Johns desolate manor.)

Age:

I've been around for about 42.83 years (about 300 in dog years). Which makes me 15,633 days old. Gosh, that means I'm 375,192 hours old now. Ah, I remember 375,168 like it was yesterday. Of course, my age in hexadecimal is 0x03D11 days, and in binary it's 00011110100010001 days.

I make my home in a northern suburb of Minneapolis, MN USA, planet Earth. I can't imagine living anywhere else. (Except for maybe here)

Computing (building useless web pages, programming in general), gardening (I grow mostly peppers and tomatoes), cooking, and playing silly computer games like Diablo II, Age Of Empires II: The Age of Kings and WarCraft II. I dabble in electronics. I have two dogs, Ben and Tia, that are like children to me.

Shameless Plugs

Articles:

I have co-authored two articles for Web Techniques Magazine. "Real World Cross Browser HTML Development" appeared in the May 2000 issue, and "More Real World Cross Browser HTML Development" appeared in the August 2000 issue.

Sites I Helped Build:

BigCharts.com
I did a lot of the ASP for the Industry section of BigCharts, and some bits and pieces of the rest of the site while employed there.
ShopNBC.com (formerly vvtv.com)
This was my first gig working for Plural (Plural was MMA at the time). I was an ASP developer, but I did some database work too.
Priceline
Priceline's Gasoline service (which is no longer available) gave me an opportunity to do some server-side JScript.
Garage Sale Planet.com
I built this one for myself. The site uses ASP, ADO and SQL. Post a classified ad for your garage sale, or find sales in your area. I'm particularily proud of the search by zip-code logic.
Polo.com
I was one of several web developers who helped launch Polo.com. ASP, XML, ADO.

Certifications:

Brainbench ASP Master CertificationI passed the Brainbench Active Server Pages certification test with a score of 4.03. You can see my transcript here.
